Why Flywheel?

The founder, Sam, built Flywheel to silence the anger, frustration, and dissonance that had been raking at his soul for more than twenty years.
What made him feel angry was seeing "consultants" with far too little knowledge charging far too much money. What made him feel frustrated was hitting his job title's "salary cap," despite creating half a billion dollars in annual revenue. What made him feel dissonance was the inertia-dampening choices being pitched to people who didn't yet know not to buy them (most unforgivable: vendor lock-in).
So, Sam quit his job and bought a farm. He spent all spring and summer tilling and planting; in the end, harvesting less than pound of produce. For you, this failure was a blessing. It meant that he couldn't simply escape the problems: he had to solve them.
And so he went searching for signals in a sea of digital marketing noise. Armed with a 13 year career in advertising, a 10 year career in engineering, and an IQ north of 160, he knew exactly what they sounded like. He also knew that, when he brought them together, they sounded... wrong.
So the search became, not for signals, but for harmony.
He was close to admitting that it did not exist when he finally found it: the only good solution.
